National Park Service:

 

  • Aztec Ruins National Monument:

    • Design and construction of the reroofing, renovation and remodeling of the historic adobe and stone Visitor Center (multi phased project).

    • Design and construction of reroofing and rehabilitation of the Great Kiva.

    • Condition Assessment and Preservation Plan for the Kiva Trading Post.

    • Condition Assessment and Preservation Plan for the historic Ruins Trading Post.

    • Consultation, advice, and planning assistance on numerous historic preservation projects and technical issues in the park.

  • Bandelier National Monument:

    • Condition assessment and preservation recommendations for fireplaces in historic CCC buildings.

    • Design and construction of reroofing and structural repair of several historic buildings in Headquarters area

  • Blumenschein House, Taos, NM (NGO):

    • Consultation on causes of deterioration of historic adobe structure, and possible stabilization and repairs.

  • Canyon de Chelly National Monument:

    • Design and construction of reroofing and modifications to the historic adobe Caretaker’s Residence.

    • Design and construction of the rehabilitation of the historic Mission 66 Visitor Center.

  • Capital Reef National Park:

    • Design and construction of a new 1600 square foot Administration building.

    • Design and construction of a new 1900 square foot Resources Management and Visitor Resources Protection building.

    • (Both buildings incorporated state of the art sustainable design features.)

  • Capulin Volcano National Monument:

    • Member of planning team creating and evaluating alternatives for repair, rehabilitation, and reconstruction of the existing historic Mission 66 building.

  • Carlsbad Caverns National Park:

    • Design and construction of reroofing of several historic CCC residences. Work included assessment and repair of deteriorated wood features and parapets.

  • Casa Grande National Monument:

    • Design and construction of reroofing of historic CCC residence.

  • Cedar Breaks National Monument:

    • Design and construction of new 2000 square foot Administration building, laminated log structure

    • Design and construction of replacement of stone foundations at historic CCC Visitor Center.

    • Design and construction of reroofing of historic comfort station.

  • Colorado National Monument:

    • Design and construction of rehabilitation of rest-rooms in historic Mission 66 Visitor Center (under construction).

  • Curecanti National Recreation Area:

    • Design and construction of new 2000 square foot addition to existing boat house/shop.

  • Death Valley National Park:

    • Consultation, advice, and planning assistance on numerous historic preservation projects and technical issues in the park.

    • Design and implementation of preservation activities on numerous historic buildings

    • Design and construction of rehabilitation and remodeling of several buildings.

    • Survey, condition assessment, and preservation recommendations for all historic back-country structures located in the park.

  • Fort Point National Historic Site:

    • Condition assessment and preservation plans for portions of the structure, including cast iron features.

    • Design and implementation of preservation work, including cast iron features.

    • Design and construction documents for future preservation work.

  • Grand Canyon National Park:

    • Design and implementation of treatment recommendations for the historic Indian Garden Trail Caretaker’s Residence.

    • Consultation on preservation of historic Caretaker’s House on South Rim

  • Hubbell Trading Post National Historic Site:

    • Condition Assessment and Preliminary Treatment Recommendations for the historic Visitor Center.

    • Design and construction of reroofing and repairs to the Historic Visitor Center and rest-room buildings.

    • Consultation, advice, and planning assistance on numerous historic preservation projects and technical issues in the park.

  • Kit Carson House, Taos, NM (NGO):

    • Consultation on causes of deterioration of historic adobe structure, and possible stabilization and repairs, including design and repair of historic portal framing.

  • Lake Valley, New Mexico (BLM):

    • Condition assessment and preservation plan for several historic adobe and stone structures.

    • Design and implementation of preservation activities on several structures.

  • Las Flores Adobe National Historic Landmark, Camp Pendleton, California (DOD - USMC):

    • Condition assessment and preservation plan for historic adobe ranch building.

    • Design and implementation of preservation activities, including seismic stabilization.

  • Manzanar National Historic Site:

    • Condition assessment and preservation plans for all structures on site (except auditorium).

    • Design and implementation of preservation activities on several structures.

    • Moving historic mess hall building from remote location back to site.

  • Mesa Verde National Park:

    • Structural stabilization of historic Buildings 67 and 68.

    • Design and construction of new 800 square foot office building (under construction).

  • Montezuma Castle National Monument (including Tuzigoot National Monument, and Montezuma Well Unit):

    • Design of a new 3000 square foot Interdivisional Maintenance Building, located in the Park's historic district.

    • Condition Assessment and Preservation Plan for the historic adobe CCC Chief Ranger Residence at Montezuma Castle.

    • Design and implementation of treatment recommendations for the Chief Ranger Residence.

    • Condition Assessment and Preservation Plan for the historic Back Cabin at Montezuma Well.

    • Replacement of storefront glazing and entrance doors at historic Mission 66 Montezuma Castle Visitor center.

    • Reroofing of five historic buildings including the Visitor Centers at Montezuma Castle and Tuzigoot,

  • Mojave Preserve (BLM):

    • Condition Assessment and Preservation Plan for historic Rock House.

  • Natural Bridges National Monument:

    • Design and construction of replacement of exterior doors and windows in historic Mission 66 Visitor Center.

  • Old Santa Fe Trail Building (former Southwest Region Headquarters):

    • Handicapped accessibility study for building and site.

    • Member of project planning team for replacement of stucco and roofing, and structural repairs to adobe walls, lightning protection system.

  • Padre Island National Seashore:

    • Design and construction of a new Kemps-Ridley Sea Turtle research and breeding facility.

  • Panchuela Cabin, Cowles, New Mexico (USFS):

    • Condition assessment and preservation plan for historic log cabin.

  • Parashant National Monument:

    • Condition Assessment and Preservation Plan for all historic buildings and mine structures in Monument.

  • Pecos National Historical Park:

    • Co-author of Historic Structures Report for historic adobe Kozlowski’s Trading Post, Forked Lightning Ranch.

    • Planning, design, and implementation of phased projects for the renovation and rehabilitation of historic adobe Kozlowski’s Trading Post, Forked Lightning Ranch.

    • Design and construction of trailhead, 20 space parking lot, and rest-rooms for Glorieta Battlefield Trail.

    • Consultation, advice, and planning assistance on numerous historic preservation projects and technical issues in the park.

  • Petrified Forest National Park:

    • Condition assessment and preservation plan for all of the historic buildings in the Park (with the exception of the Painted Desert Inn).

    • Design and construction of reroofing of several historic Mission 66 buildings in the Headquarters area and several historic CCC buildings in Painted Desert area.

    • Design and construction of new pre-fabricated comfort station at Puerco Pueblo.

    • Consultation, advice, and planning assistance on numerous historic preservation projects and technical issues in the park.

  • Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument, Gran Quivira unit:

    • Design and construction of new handicapped accessible handrail on over 300 linear feet of ramps that work their way up to the hilltop ruins from the parking lot and visitor center (under construction).

  • White Sands National Monument:

    • Design and construction of multiple projects for the stabilization and rehabilitation of the historic adobe Visitor Center, including replacement of mechanical and electrical systems, handicapped accessibility conformance, structural stabilization, reroofing and repair of deteriorated parapets, and replacement of deteriorated interior finishes and exterior wood features such as projecting vigas and canales.

    • Design and construction of the rehabilitation of three historic adobe residences.

    • Consultation, advice, and planning assistance on numerous historic preservation projects and technical issues in the park.


Private Practice:

 

  • Numerous residential projects, including new houses, additions, and remodeling.

  • Remodeling of about 7,000 square feet of an existing commercial/institutional building to create "The Kitchen Table," a commissary kitchen providing a large commercial kitchen space, with multiple work areas, complete with commercial cooking appliances and equipment, and with support and multipurpose spaces, to be rented out to users such as caterers, virtual restaurants, food truck vendors, boutique food products producers, cooking schools, and other related uses requiring the use of a commercial kitchen.

  • Remodeling of a portion of an existing commercial/industrial building into "Root 66," a small vegan commercial kitchen, bakery, and take out facility.

  • Documentation and National Register evaluation of historic Mission 66 houses in Death Valley National Park.

  • Documentation and National Register evaluation of historic cold war era buildings at Kirtland Air Force Base, in Albuquerque.

  • Design of a heavy timber framed open air pavilion, for the Santa Fe Botanical Garden, as well as additions and remodeling 6 years later to provide rest-rooms and other modifications to the building. Remodeling of existing 6,500 square foot commercial/industrial building into studios, offices, and multipurpose space, for ARTsmart New Mexico, in Santa Fe.

  • Remodeling of the existing 16,000 square foot Desert Academy school facility in Santa Fe into Dragonstone Studios, to create artist studios, offices, and support spaces.

  • Design studies for remodeling of existing gallery and concessions spaces into a new cafe, bar, and gift shop, in the Cocteau Theatre building in Santa Fe.

  • Code and life safety consultation for Meow Wolf, an art installation facility in Santa Fe.

  • Stabilization of the ruins of a historic adobe and stone building in Galisteo, New Mexico, for the Lannan Foundation.

  • Renovation of the Montano Store, an 1860’s adobe building in Lincoln, New Mexico, for the Museum of New Mexico:

    • Work of this project included research and documentation of the building, preparation of a Historic Structures Report using the National Park Service format, master planning and renovation of the building.

  • Statewide survey and documentation of historic New Mexico churches:

    • Worked with the New Mexico State Historic Preservation Office, the New Mexico Community Foundation (now called “Cornerstones”), and the Archdiocese of Santa Fe. This project won a National Preservation Honor Award from the National Trust for Historical Preservation. Follow-up work included providing pro-bono technical assistance to individual communities to complete stabilization projects.

  • Renovation, remodeling, and additions to the historic Inn at Snakedance in Taos Ski Valley.

  • Renovation and remodeling of the Mary Medina Building in Taos, the Chama Welcome Center, and the Espanola Department of Labor building, all for the State of New Mexico.

  • Several commercial and retail remodelings, including tenant improvements in a new shopping mall in Santa Fe.

  • Investigation and design studies for the historic Foster’s Hotel in Chama.

  • Design team member for renovation of the historic adobe Juan Jose Prada House in Santa Fe. This project won an Award of Merit from the Old Santa Fe Association.

  • Design team member for the remodeling and additions to the Unitarian Church of Santa Fe.

  • Design team member for Santa Maria de la Paz Catholic Church, for the Archdiocese of Santa Fe.

  • Design team member for many projects for the Santa Fe Public Schools, including Cesar Chavez Elementary School, an addition to Devargas Junior High, the renovation and rebuilding of portions of the Wood Gormley School, and numerous smaller repair and remodeling projects, such as reroofing and ADA conformance work.

  • Design team member for the student center for the Fountain Valley School, Colorado Springs.

  • Master planning for the Rio Grande School, Santa Fe.
