Generally, I find that the best value for my clients is to work hourly. That way, my fees are based directly on the amount of work that I do. I bill on a regular basis, usually monthly, as the work is done. I have found that working this way allows me to provide the services I think are appropriate to a project, and gives me and my clients some flexibility to adjust my services as the project moves along. And, I have found that I am able to size up a project and provide a realistic estimate of my fees before we get started, and they are often far less than typical architect’s fees when done as a percentage of construction cost or fixed fee.
